Our design process begins with a consultation where we discuss your needs and your dreams for your space. Next, we write a proposal describing the scope of work for your project and the design services that you require. The proposal also outlines design fees, and forms the basis of our agreement for the design phase of your project. Once we agree on the proposal, we come to thoroughly survey your garden — taking lots of measurements, notes, and photographs. Equipped with this information, we prepare a plan of the existing garden, and create a concept drawing for a new one. After meeting with you to discuss the concept, we create a package detailing a full plan. For most gardens this package includes a planting plan as well as a plan for the new garden's layout; for some projects it may also include construction designs, lighting plans, or other information for your contractors.

If you would like, we can supervise the installation of your garden, too. We can recommend contractors to you, and we can also review estimates with you before you select and hire contractors. You retain control over contractors' invoices and payments. During construction we visit the site regularly and are available for consultations when any issues arise or decisions need to be made.
